Tom Pynn has worked with Inter-Growth for several years as the Project Lead overseeing Quality Service Reviews for the Arizona Department of Health Services. Mr. Pynn brings over 30 years of experience in health research, evaluations, data analysis, grant writing, and more. He has managed and written proposals for education and health-related research and evaluation projects as a contractor for Federal, State, and local agencies, universities, and political campaigns.
He has managed projects valued at $20 million and a staff of 100 interviewers nationally. Mr. Pynn has also directed national surveys and carried out research for the U.S. Department of Education, the Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, the National Center for Health Statistics, the U.S. Department of State, the National Institutes of Health, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Department of Defense. For these agencies, he has written multiple proposals and grants.
In one month he won over $10 million in contracts from the National Center for Health Statistics and the Department of Education. Recently, Mr. Pynn, who speaks Spanish fluently, won a $5 million contract to develop a nationwide health care system for the Argentine Bankers Association (a labor union). He also recently worked on a health care reform project for the Governor of Puerto Rico.
Finally, Mr. Pynn has also successfully secured grants for Chicanos Por La Causa ($10 million), Teen Outreach Academy ($500,000), and $2 million in grants to evaluate drug abuse treatment outcomes for Arizona’s Department of Health Services. Mr. Pynn holds a Master’s in Political Science and Latin American Studies and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of South Florida.
Shaina Srivastava, Senior Consultant
Shaina is a health care professional with over a decade of experience and a successful track record creating, implementing, and sustaining initiatives and driving large-scale projects in multi-regional, integrated health care companies. Prior to consulting, Shaina was Director of Medicaid Programs for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic Region, where she successfully led the go-to-market strategy and the Medicaid managed care application process for the State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
She provided project management oversight of the RFP process and readiness reviews as well as contracting and regulatory requirements for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) populations. Shaina has also served as a Senior Financial Analyst and Strategic Planning Consultant.
She holds a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina.
Amy Krause, Consultant
Amy Krause has over 18 years of experience in the health care field and specialized expertise in network development, provider relations, project management, and response development for Medicaid RFPs. Amy works with public sector clients on a variety of network development and management initiatives, including contract negotiations, outreach, expansion to new health plan markets, and provider services.
Previously, she served as the Director of Network Management/Contracting for UnitedHealth Group, Senior Contract Negotiator for Cigna Healthcare of Arizona, and Network Development Manager for PacifiCare of Arizona. She holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
June McGraw, Consultant
June brings 15 years of experience in marketing, proposal writing and editing, business development, and corporate communications. She has successfully written and managed large, multi-million dollar proposals and excels at working across all levels of an organization to develop winning proposal responses. She has built proposal departments from the ground up handling all facets of the process from identifying opportunities, managing kick-off meetings, storyboarding/outlining, writing and editing to finalist presentations and ROI analysis.
June has worked with a number of health care companies serving the Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare populations. Prior to consulting, she served as a Senior Proposal Writer for HealthTrans (now Catamaran) a pharmacy benefit management company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Certification by the American Grant Writers Association.
Carol Sardinha, Consultant
Carol Sardinha is a strategic healthcare business development consultant and professional healthcare business writer with extensive experience in health insurance/managed care, pharmacy benefits management (PBM), disease/population health management, clinical communications, and Medicare/Medicaid.
A former award-winning healthcare business journalist who has served in senior-level corporate communications and marketing roles for leading healthcare organizations (Medco, Healthways), Ms. Sardinha draws from her broad understanding of the different healthcare purchaser channels to frame content from a client/buyer perspective and develop on-target value propositions to support sales, business development, and account teams.
She has broad experience collaborating and coordinating with subject matter experts across functional areas within large healthcare organizations to obtain relevant content and clarify for accuracy and positioning. She also excels in synthesizing, distilling, and clearly communicating complex regulatory, clinical, operational, and related healthcare business content for executives, thought leaders, influencers, and purchasing decision-makers.
In addition to developing proposals for Medco (now ESI) and Healthways, she has done proposal and business development writing for Gorman Health Group (a niche consulting firm that sells to health plans operating in the Medicare Advantage space), for a start-up pharmacy services firm, and for several medical communications firms focused on the payer (commercial and public) and pharmaceutical markets.
In addition to providing top-quality healthcare proposal and business development writing, editing, and positioning, Ms. Sardinha provides expert consulting in message development, audience and channel marketing/messaging segmentation, strategic planning/analysis, and messaging gap analysis.
Ms. Sardinha is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University whose professional affiliations have included the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and the International Association of Business Communicators.
